The Basics

Getting involved is easy!

1. Sign up for your preferred volunteer day using the link below.
2. When signing up, please include your child's name, grade, and teacher.
3. A few days before your scheduled volunteer day, you'll receive an email with:
   • Your itinerary for the day
   • Helpful tips to make your volunteer experience successful
   • Sherwood Elementary volunteer guidelines
4. You'll also receive an automatic reminder from SignUpGenius before your scheduled date.

We ask each WATCH D.O.G.S. volunteer to serve one day during the school year, although you're welcome to volunteer for additional days if your schedule allows. Please note that some dates are unavailable due to campus testing and other school events.

What to Expect

Your volunteer day may include:

• Assisting with morning arrival and the car rider line
• Taking a photo with your child
• Making a guest appearance on the morning announcements
• Spending time in your child's classroom
• Eating lunch with your child
• Assisting in other classrooms and around campus as needed
• Helping with afternoon dismissal

Every volunteer day is a little different, but you'll have plenty of opportunities to support our students and staff while making lasting memories with your child.

Important Reminders

• Complete your SBISD Volunteer Registration for the 2026–2027 school year before your scheduled volunteer day. Volunteer approval is required annually, and you cannot participate as a WATCH D.O.G.S. volunteer until your registration has been approved. • On your scheduled volunteer day, please arrive at 7:00 a.m. with your child so you can begin the day with morning arrival duties.
