PTA Eagle Update - March 3, 2025

Headed to the Finals!

The Sherwood team of 2nd and 4th graders impressed the judges and won 5th place out of 17 teams in the Houston area that competed in the Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament, and will be advancing to State Finals on March 29. They selected the “Classics” problem, based on literature, and their show was an offshoot of the Secret Garden. Great job team!

Odyssey of the Mind is a global creative problem-solving program where team members present their solution at a competition and involves writing, design, construction, and theatrical performance. A spontaneous portion of the competition has the team also generate solutions to a problem they have not seen before. There are teams all over the world! Color Explosion

The Color Run was a BLAST on Saturday! Thank you to all the SWE students and families that helped make this event a success!

Art Show volunteers are needed!

Last year we had over 700 student artworks displayed in the SWE Art Show! I could not have done it without my amazing volunteers. I would love your help labeling student work, mounting it onto black paper, and potentially helping paint a photo backdrop. Thank you so much for your help! Please include your phone number, I will text you the day of your time slot!

Time for Talent Show Try-Outs!

Talent Show Try-Outs will be held on March 19th from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Sherwood - Transition Campus.

Whether your students sings, dances, plays an instrument, performs magic, or has another special talent, we want to see it! Don’t miss this opportunity for them to shine on stage.

How to Audition:

Come prepared with everything they need for their performance (music, props, instruments, etc.).
Be ready to have fun and show us their best!

Calling all 5th graders! Come join the fun and create some slime with your friends!

Just a reminder that there will be no school from March 10 to March 14 for Spring Break. We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable break!

Classes will resume on Monday, March 17. Have a wonderful and safe week off!
